About asset register settings

Asset register settings control whether the assets feature is available for your office and how assets behave in inspections and reports. You can enable assets by inspection type, choose whether assets appear on tenant copies, and apply optional requirements for adding and rating assets during inspections.

Note: This section is typically available only to users with the Office Manager role.

Access asset register settings

Use these steps to open the sync settings section in the CMS.

  • Select Settings from the left menu

  • On the General Settings page, locate the Property Tree Sync Settings panel

  • In Asset Register Settings, update any of the following:

Enable Assets for your office

These settings enable or disable the assets feature at an office level. If assets are disabled for the office, users cannot access asset features in inspections.

Enable or disable the Assets feature

  • In Asset Register Settings, locate Enable Assets for office

  • Toggle the setting:

    • On to enable Assets for the account

    • Off to disable Assets for the account

Tip: If you are introducing assets for the first time, enable it during a quieter period and let staff know what will change in their inspection workflow.

Choose which inspection types can use Assets

These settings control whether asset features are available in each inspection type.

Enable Assets by inspection type

  • Locate the inspection type toggle you want to change:

    • Enable Assets for Ingoing Inspections

    • Enable Assets for Outgoing Inspections

    • Enable Assets for Routine Inspections

  • Toggle each setting:

    • On to allow Assets for that inspection type

    • Off to remove asset features from that inspection type

Note: If you disable assets for a specific inspection type, users will not see asset options while conducting that inspection type.

Control whether Assets appear on tenant copies

These settings control whether assets are visible on the tenant copy for outgoing and routine inspections.

Enable or disable Assets on tenant copies

  • In Asset Register Settings, locate the tenant copy toggles:

    • Outgoing (Tenant Copy)

    • Routine (Tenant Copy)

  • Toggle each setting:

    • On to include assets on the tenant copy

    • Off to hide assets on the tenant copy

Tip: If your office prefers tenants not to receive asset details, turn off the relevant tenant copy toggles while keeping Assets enabled for staff.

Prompt staff to add assets during inspections (optional)

This setting controls whether users are prompted to add missing assets while conducting an inspection.

Enable mandatory asset addition prompts

  • Locate Enable mandatory asset addition on Inspections

  • Toggle the setting:

  • On to prompt property managers to add at least one asset per area where assets have not been added

  • Off to allow inspections without asset prompts

Require condition ratings for existing assets (optional)

This setting controls whether users must rate the condition of existing assets during inspections.

Enable mandatory condition rating

  • Locate Enable mandatory condition rating of assets on Inspections

  • Toggle the setting:

    • On to require condition ratings for existing assets during inspections

    • Off to make asset condition ratings optional

Request tenants to upload asset photos (if available)

This option sends a link to tenants so they can upload photos of property-related assets.

Send a tenant upload request

  • Locate Request Tenants to Upload Assets

  • Use the option to send a link to tenants across properties within the office

Tip: Consider notifying staff before sending tenant upload links, so the team is ready to review and organise incoming asset photos.
