This article covers:
About the commercial water invoice upload
This feature lets Invoice Automate split a multi‑charge commercial water bill into separate invoices. This helps ensure charges are processed correctly and allocated to the right properties.
Before you start
Complete the required setup in Property Tree so Invoice Automate can split multi‑meter commercial water bills into individual invoices.
Follow the steps in Property Tree to set up water tags for commercial water invoices
When the Property Tree setup is complete, return to Invoice Automate to enable the commercial water invoice upload
Note: If the Property Tree water tags are not configured, Invoice Automate may not create separate invoices from a single commercial water bill.
Tip: If you cannot access the relevant Property Tree settings, ask an administrator to confirm your permissions.
Enable the commercial water invoice upload
To enable the upload feature:
In Invoice Automate > Go to: Settings
Select General Settings
Find Enable the commercial water invoice upload
Turn on the toggle
In Invoice Tag(s), enter one or more tags that IA should apply to commercial water invoices
Tags must be comma‑separated
Select Save
Tip: Use consistent tagging if your organisation relies on automation rules or searches that look for specific tags.
How the feature works
When the commercial water invoice upload is enabled, Invoice Automate will:
Detect commercial water bills that contain multiple charges
Split those charges into separate invoices
Apply the invoice tag(s) you set in General Settings
Note: Splitting behaviour depends on how the supplying authority formats the invoice. Most Australian water authorities structure commercial water invoices in a compatible format.
