About videos on inspections
You can add videos while completing inspections in the Proptech Labs Property Manager app. Video recording is available for routine, ingoing, and outgoing inspections, and you can also record a property overview video for the inspection. The number of videos you can record depends on the inspection type and where you record them.
Add a video to an area or item
Use these steps to record a video of an area, such as a bedroom, or of an item within it.
Open the Proptech Labs Property Manager app
Tap Inspections
Tap the inspection you want to update
Tap Standard Inspection
Go to the area you want to update, such as a bedroom
Tap the camera icon
Tap Video
Record the video
When you finish recording, tap the tick icon to save the video
Note: The exact video length you can record depends on the inspection type and whether you are recording against an area or an item. See Understand video limits for each inspection type below.
Add a property overview video
Use the property overview video to record a short walkthrough of the property. This section appears at the top of the inspection.
Open the inspection in the Proptech Labs Property Manager app
Tap Standard Inspection
At the top of the inspection, find the Property Overview Video section
If the section is collapsed, tap it to expand it
Tap Capture Video
Record the overview video
Save the video when recording is complete
Note: You can record one property overview video per inspection, with a maximum length of 10 minutes.
Understand video limits for each inspection type
The app applies different video limits depending on the inspection type and where the video is recorded.
Routine inspections
In a routine inspection, you can record:
One video per area, such as Bedroom or Kitchen
Each area video can be up to 3 minutes long
Ingoing and outgoing inspections
In an ingoing or outgoing inspection, you can record videos in two different places
You can record one video per Area Level Photos section
Each area level photos video can be up to 3 minutes long
You can also record one video per item listed under an area, such as floor or walls
Each item video can be up to 30 seconds long
Understand how videos appear in reports
Recorded videos do not appear as embedded playable videos in the PDF itself. Instead, videos are displayed as QR codes in the PDF version of the inspection report, and can be viewed by scanning the code with a mobile device camera.
