[FAQ] Settings & Integrations

Updated over 10 months ago

What happens when I am sending a Chat through a Job to an Owner, Tenant, or Trades if they are not currently logged in?

They will receive an email.

Can you customise the Email text?

You cannot customise the Email text. However, you can customise the entire Email template eg to display your Agency's telephone number, email address, Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, and Website. You can also change the margin colours to make them more in line with your branding. Go to Settings > Email Template.

How can I receive an update on the new Job Posts?

You can configure how you wish to be notified for specific actions. In this case, Go to Settings > Communication Preference > Job Updates.

Can we customise the setting so newly entered Owners in Property Tree automatically receive an email invitation to Bricks + Agent?

If your Agency is not using MRI Property Connect (Portal / Tenant App), this can be set up within the General Settings > Integrations & Import > Include Tenants > Send Tenant Invitations (select toggle).

Do Owners receive automated reminder emails when they have not responded to an Owner Approval Request?

You can set up your Business Rules in Bricks + Agent for Owners under Settings > General Settings > Business Rules.

We don't have one set up by default as often Owners don't like them, however, you can set this up if you wish and customise the frequency of when they are sent.

How are existing Trades in Property Tree synced into Bricks + Agent?

Prior to GoLive, Bricks + Agent will import your Trades based on their account codes in Property Tree. Usually only import the repairs and maintenance codes, which will then only invite creditors listed under those account codes as Trades. This will exclude creditors like strata and utilities.

Itโ€™s also important to note that we use the email in the company field, not the email in the contact field so please ensure an email is present in the company field.

How can I connect Xero to Brick + Agent?

Step 1: From the left navigation, select "Settings" and click on the "Accounting" option. Since we are talking about Xero integration, click on the button to connect and sync your account.

Step 2: Once you click on the option, you'll be directed to log in to your Xero account and you will need to log in with your Xero account credentials.

Step 3: When you've connected to your account, you will be requested to allow access to Bricks + Agent, and when allowed you will be taken back to B+A platform.

Step 4: As the 4th step, you'll be directed to the B+A portal. Go back to the "Accounting" option in "Settings" and click on "Sync Data" to initiate the synchronisation. After this is pressed the first sync will run. After this the Xero activity will be updated automatically without the need to sync manually again.

Step 5: You can now start to quote and invoice using Xero. They have replaced the default non-integrate quote and invoice options.

How do I unlink Xero?

You will need to go into Xero add ins section and remove Bricks + Agent. Once this is done, please log a support ticket with us and we can delink the integration from our side as well.

Why are quotes draft invoices?

Quotes are stored in Xero as draft invoices. If you are unsuccessful in a quotation and you wish to remove the draft invoice you can do so in Xero directly.

How can I connect MYOB to Brick + Agent?

Step 1: From the left navigation, select "Settings" and click on the "Accounting" option. Since we are discussing here is "MYOB" click on the connect to MYOB option.

Step 2: Once you click on the option, you'll be directed to the log-in of your MYOB account and you will need to log in with your MYOB account credentials.

Step 3: Once you have entered, you will receive an authentication code to your email. You are required to enter the authentication code.

Step 4: Once the account has been authenticated successfully, you will be directed to the B+A portal. You can Go Back to the "Accounting" settings and the list of items in MYOB will be populated under the MYOB section. Once the data has been synchronised, every time an item is added in MYOB it will be synced with B+A automatically.

Step 5: You can now start to quote and invoice using MYOB. They have replaced the default non-integrate quote and invoice options. Once you place a quote, a draft invoice will be generated from MYOB. Similarly when you complete a job, at the time of completion the list of items in MYOB will be populated for you to select and add as line items. Upon completion, an invoice will be generated from MYOB to B+A.
