How to resolve issues with REST sync

The purpose of this guide is to explain how to resolve common issues with the sync between REST and Inspection Manager

Updated over a week ago

There are 3 main parts to REST sync issues that we will cover here:

  1. REST sync has stopped working. This can only be resolved by accessing REST through the server.

  2. One or more Properties are not coming through the sync.

  3. Unable to login into Inspection Manager through REST.

STEP 1: REST sync has stopped working

The main 2 reasons why the REST sync has stopped working are below:

  • Whenever an update to REST Communicator is required.

  • If the Rockend services have stopped running/or become unresponsive.

The restart the Rockend services, please follow the screenshots and instructions below.

  1. Click Start

    Then type "Services".

2. Once Services is opened, locate the 3 Rockend Services. They are called ‘Rockend AMH’, ‘Rockend RPMH’ and ‘Rockend SMH’. You need to right-click on each one, then select ‘Restart’.

3. Once this has been done, wait a few minutes and then attempt to sync REST once more. If you are still having issues, please contact Inspection Manager Support.

STEP 2: One or more Properties are not coming through the sync

There are a couple of main reasons why one or more Properties are not coming through the sync from REST to Inspection Manager. They are listed below.

  • Incorrect or missing required information on the Property.

  • Incorrect or missing User information.

  1. For the first part, the required fields are shown below. The correct information must be entered here. Any missing information or incorrectly applied information will prevent a Property from coming through.

2. For the second part, you must also check that the User information is correct, accurate, and not missing anything required. The main reason why a whole portfolio of Properties does not come through is due to a difference or misspelling of a User email.

STEP 3: Unable to login to Inspection Manager through REST

The main reason for this is due to the wrong Inspection Manager login information being stored within REST.

  1. You need to browse to Other > Utilities > Company Details

2. Select the ‘2 Third Party Tab’ > Select the word ‘Inspection Manager’ > Then select ‘Configure’

3. This will then display all REST users. The ‘Username’ column should contain the Inspection Manager Email and the ‘Password’ column should contain the Inspection Manager Password for each User that has an Inspection Manager login. Once correct and confirmed, select OK.

You will need Office Manager access in order to see the REST tab on the Inspection

Manager CMS and trigger a sync.
