This article covers:
About inspection layouts
Inspection layouts (also called property layouts) control the areas (for example, Bedroom, Kitchen) and (for some report types) the items within each area that display in an inspection report.
When you edit the layout from a report:
You can add, rename, delete, and reorder areas (and items for condition reports)
Changes you save are reflected in the report after saving
Edit the inspection report
First, locate the property and open the inspection report you want to update.
Go to: Properties in the left menu
Find the property you want to edit
On the property row, open the inspections list using View (x) Inspections (dropdown) on the right side of the property details
For the correct inspection, select View report
Tip: If you see multiple inspections, check the Type, Date, and Status columns to confirm you are opening the right report.
Once the report is open, switch it to edit mode to make the layout editor available
At the top of the report, select Edit
Edit the property layout
After entering edit mode, open the property layout editor and make your changes.
Select Edit Property Layout (green button on the right side of the report)
In the Property layout panel, update the layout using the available controls:
Add an area - Type a name in New Area, then select Add Area
Rename an area - Select the area’s name (for example, Garage) to update the name
Reorder areas or items - Drag using the three‑line handle beside an area or item to change the order displayed on the report
Delete an area (or item) - Select the trash icon for that area/item
Condition reports
Edit items (condition reports only) - Expand an area using Show (x) items, then add, rename, reorder, or delete items
Note: Deleting an area or item may remove any associated photos and comments, and you may not be able to undo the change. Be cautious when deleting.
Tip: If you only need to tidy the report order, try reordering areas/items first rather than deleting and recreating them.
Select Save to commit your changes and exit the property layout panel
Select Done to exit editing mode
Note: If you select Close instead of Save, your unsaved layout changes are not applied.
