[PM] Workflows: How to Change a Job from Paid to Warranty Without Notifying Trades
Updated over a month ago

Sometimes, you may need to change the status of an existing job from paid to warranty. In these cases, it's possible to make this change without sending notifications to the trades involved. Here’s how you can do it seamlessly:

Step 1: Access the Job Settings

  • Begin by selecting the job you want to change. For example, you have a job that is currently marked as paid, but you now need to switch it to a warranty job.

Step 2: Disable Trade Notifications

  • Before making any changes, click on the job settings. You'll notice a setting labelled “Notify Trades.” By default, this is set to notify trades of any updates made to the job.

  • In this scenario, you might not want the trades to be informed of this change. To prevent notifications, simply uncheck or adjust the “Notify Trades” option. You can add a note like "Switching job type" to indicate the reason for the update, then save the changes.

Step 3: Update the Job Type

  • Now that notifications have been disabled, you can proceed to change the job type. Go to the job options, select “Switch Job Type,” and change it from a paid job to a warranty job.

  • Since you’ve turned off notifications, the trades involved in this job won’t be alerted to the change you’ve made.

This process allows you to manage job status updates without disrupting or unnecessarily notifying your trades, giving you more control over your workflow.
