About auto-applying photo comments to areas and items
Auto-apply photo comments lets you add a comment to a photo and apply that text to the Area/Item comment where the photo is saved, so you do not need to retype notes.
Before you start - An Office Manager must enable auto-apply photo comments in the CMS settings.
Add a comment to a photo in the app
Once the CMS settings are enabled, you can add a comment to a photo while completing an inspection in the app.
To add a comment to a photo:
From the relevant Area or Item, open the camera and take a photo
Tap the tick (check mark) to exit the camera and return to the inspection screen
Tap the photo thumbnail to open the photo preview
Tap on the photo where you want to place the comment
In Add Comment, type your comment, or select the microphone to dictate (if available on your device)
Tap Save
Tap Done to exit the photo
Tip: When you add a comment, the photo shows an indicator (such as a speech bubble) that marks the comment's location.
Understand how photo comments appear as area/item comments
After you save a comment on a photo, the comment appears as its own comment entry against the area/item where the photo is assigned.
What happens next depends on your office settings:
If manual application is enabled, you may be prompted to confirm whether to apply the comment to the Item/Area
If automatic application is enabled, the comment applies without a prompt
Note: Each photo with a comment appears as a separate comment tile. You can swipe left or right to view all comments and image tiles.
Edit a photo comment
Edits to the comment update both the photo comment and the related area/item comment.
In the inspection screen, tap the comment tile created from the photo comment
Update the text in Edit Comment
Tap Save
