About auto-applying photo comments to areas and items

Auto-apply photo comments helps you avoid retyping by applying photo comments to the related Area/Item notes during an inspection.

Once enabled, you can use the feature in both the App and the Website.

Note: This section is typically available only to users with the Office Manager role.


Enable the auto-apply photo comment settings

To use this feature in the App or Website, you must first turn on both Reporting toggles in Inspection Manager CMS.

To enable the settings:

  • In Inspection Manager CMS, select Settings from the left menu

  • On the General Settings page, scroll down to the Reporting settings panel

  • Locate Application of comments from photos to Area/Items and toggle it On

  • Locate Automatic Application of comments from photos to Area/Items and toggle it On


Understand the two toggle options

The two toggles control whether users see a confirmation prompt, or whether comments apply automatically.

Application of comments from photos to Area/Items (manual)

  • When enabled, photo comments can be applied to the related Area/Item comment, but users choose each time by selecting Yes on a confirmation prompt

  • Users see a prompt similar to: β€œDo you want to apply comment to Item/Area?” with No and Yes options

Automatic Application of comments from photos to Area/Items (automatic)

  • When enabled, photo comments apply to the related Area/Item automatically, with no prompt
