Cloning inspections is perfect for brand new developments or properties with similar layouts or conditions. It allows you to copy conditions and comments from one property to an inspection on another property.
It's simple enough to use as we have integrated it into the same window when you create an Inspection on the CMS.
📝 *Please bear in mind that when cloning inspections, you will only be able to Clone Condition Codes and Comments. Photos will not be selectable when Cloning inspections. The property layout that you are copying from will also come across and apply to the property that you are copying to. Please be mindful of this.
How to Clone an Inspection
STEP 1: Simply click on '+ New Inspection' from the Inspections tab or an individual Property and then select the required Inspection options: Inspector, Type, Date & Time.
STEP 2: Below the required options you will have an option to 'Clone inspection from'. Cloning inspections requires the inspection that you are copying from to be in a 'Closed' status and of the same report-type structure.
Routine inspections can copy/clone only to/from other Routine inspections. They cannot copy/clone from Ingoing or Outgoing inspections.
Ingoing and Outgoing inspections can copy/clone to/from either Ingoing or Outgoing inspections. They cannot copy/clone from Routine inspections.
Search up the address of the property that you wish to copy the inspection from into the search box. You will then see a drop-down list of closed inspections that exist on the property that you are copying from.
STEP 3: Once you've selected your inspection from the drop-down list, simply select the data that you would like to copy across and then click 'Add'.
You will be able to distinguish which inspection is a cloned inspection by the new icon we've added that sits to the left of the inspection type, within the Last Inspection Data column.
From here on all that's needed is to login to the App, refresh your inspection list to load your inspection and activate the inspection data that you are copying across.
