This article covers:

About merging duplicate properties

Merging combines two property records so you can continue working from a single property profile. Use this when the same address has been added twice (for example, one record created manually and another imported).

Before you begin

Before merging, confirm you have identified the correct two duplicates (same address, suburb, and correct owner or tenant, where applicable).

Tip: If you are unsure which record to keep, open each property profile in separate tabs and compare key fields (for example, postcode and address lines) before merging.

Merge duplicate properties

To merge duplicate property profiles:

  • Use the top search bar to find the property you want to keep (the “primary” profile)

  • Select the property from the search results to display it in the list

  • Select the Edit (pencil) icon next to the property to open the property profile

  • Select Merge Property

  • In the Address field, start typing to search for the duplicate property you want to merge, then select it from the list

  • Select Merge

If Inspection Manager detects differences between the two records (for example, the postcode differs), a prompt appears asking whether you want to proceed.

  • Review the fields shown in the prompt

  • Select OK to proceed, or Cancel to stop and correct the property details first

  • When you see the success message, select OK

Note: After a successful merge, an Unmerge option becomes available on the remaining property profile, allowing you to undo the merge if needed.

Unmerge a merged property

Unmerge is useful if the wrong two records were merged. After unmerging, both properties should appear again in the Properties list.

  • Search for the property using the top search bar

  • Select the property from the search results to display it in the list

  • Select the Edit (pencil) icon next to the property to open the property profile

  • Select Unmerge

  • In the confirmation pop-up, select OK

  • In the merge confirmation pop-up, select OK

  • Return to Properties and confirm that both properties appear in the list
