About asset management in the app

Asset management in the app lets you capture and record property items during an inspection. Each asset can include photos, details, and condition information.

Assets created in the app:

  • Are saved under the inspection area

  • Appear as Pending Review Assets

  • Must be approved in the CMS before becoming Included Assets


Navigate to an area and open assets

To begin adding assets, open an inspection first.

  • Open the Proptech Labs Property Manager app

  • Tap Inspections from the main screen

  • Scroll through the list and locate your inspection

  • Tap the inspection to open it

  • Select Standard Inspection

Each inspection area contains its own asset section.

  • Tap an area (for example, Laundry or Kitchen) to expand it

  • Tap the Assets section for that area

You will see:

  • Included Assets - Already approved assets

  • Pending Review Assets - Newly added assets awaiting approval


Add a new asset

Add a new asset directly within the selected area.

  • Tap + Add New Asset

  • Under Front facing photo, tap Take Photo

  • Under Compliance plate photo, tap Take Photo

  • Tap Scan once both photos are captured

The app will scan the photos and automatically populate asset details.


Review and complete asset details

After scanning, verify and complete the asset information.

  • Review the populated fields such as:

    • Asset name

    • Manufacturer

    • Model

  • (Optional) Add or update:

    • Barcode

    • Date of purchase

    • Useful lifetime

    • Maintenance cycle

    • Description or notes

  • Add additional photos if required

  • Tap Save

Note: At minimum, an Asset Name and at least one photo are required.

Once saved, the asset will appear under the inspection area.

  • Newly added assets are listed as Pending Review Assets

  • These assets are not yet part of the official asset register

  • They remain pending until reviewed in the CMS


What happens after syncing the inspection

Once the inspection is synced to the CMS:

  • All newly added assets remain as Pending Review

  • These assets become visible in the CMS under the property

  • A user with appropriate permissions must:
