Summary
Learn how General Settings work in the Inspection Manager CMS and what each section controls.
This article covers:
About General Settings
General Settings control how Inspection Manager behaves for your office, including CMS preferences, device sync behaviour, email features, reporting defaults, Last Inspection Data, and integration-related settings.
Some sections only appear if a feature or integration is enabled for your account (for example, Property Tree, Key Automate, Asset Register, or FLK it Over).
Tip: If you only need help with one area, use the directory below to jump to the right article.
Before you begin
General Settings can affect workflows across your office. Before making changes, keep the following in mind:
Permissions - Access to General Settings is typically limited to users with the Office Manager role
Office impact - Many settings apply office-wide and can affect multiple users and properties
Feature visibility - Some settings appear only when an integration or feature is enabled
When changes apply - Changes generally take effect immediately in the CMS. Mobile users may need to refresh, re-sync, or reopen the app to see updates
Note: If you are unsure what a setting does, document the current state (for example, with a screenshot) before changing it.

What changes affect (and what to watch for)
Use this section as a quickly assess what might change before you update a setting:
CMS settings can change how staff view and sort inspections and properties
Device settings can increase mobile data usage or affect how users sync and download content
Email settings can change how reports and notifications are sent
Last Inspection Data can change how much previous content users can preview or reuse during inspections
Reporting settings can affect report sections and default content across properties
Sync settings can affect when inspections appear and how integrated data is created and updated
Integration settings (if enabled) can affect how connected systems behave and what options are available
Tip: For major changes (sync windows, report defaults, asset enablement), consider updating settings outside peak operations and notifying your team.
